A huge THANK YOU to Chelan County Fair, Douglas County Fairgrounds - WA, and Eastmont FFA for hosting poultry testing and helping get our birds ready for fair!

Our WHS FFA school flock tested negative for Pullorum-Typhoid (PT), a poultry disease caused by Salmonella bacteria. Testing is an important step in protecting the health of our flocks and helping ensure a safe, healthy fair experience for exhibitors and their birds. 🐓

We are so grateful to all of the volunteers who took the time to test birds from across NCW. Your time, knowledge, and dedication to our local poultry community do not go unnoticed! 💙💛

🐑🐐 That's a wrap on our final sheep & goat weigh-in before the NCW Fair at Douglas County Fairgrounds - WA!

The NCW Fair kicks off on August 27, and we couldn't be more proud of our Wenatchee FFA ruminant exhibitors!

All of our sheep and goats made weight, and it's been incredible watching these projects grow over the summer. This year, six students have been raising their animals at our Land Lab/Ag Barn, and for the majority of our exhibitors, this is their first time raising a larger livestock project and preparing to show at the fair. We're excited to see how these animals finish over the next few weeks and can't wait to cheer our students on in the show ring!

Keep an eye on our page over the coming weeks for ways you can support our exhibitors during fair season. Your encouragement means so much to these hardworking students.

Keep up the great work, Wenatchee FFA! We are proud of each and every one of you! 💙💛

Planning to exhibit poultry at the Chelan County Fair or NCW Fair? Be sure your birds are tested before fair season!

All-Day Testing Event
📅 Saturday, August 22
⏰ Check-in: 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
📍 Chelan County Fairgrounds, Pavilion Building
5700 Wescott Drive, Cashmere, WA 98815
Directions: Use the livestock gates north of the Pavilion.

*Please attend this event only if you cannot make the August 22 testing day due to limited availability.
📅 August 11
⏰ Check-in: 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
📍 Eastmont FFA Classroom
905 8th St NE, East Wenatchee, WA 98802
Directions: Enter the parking lot across from the 4-Plex softball fields. Head up the ramp and follow the posted signs.

Testing Information
✅ Waterfowl, doves, and pigeons do not need testing.
✅ All other poultry must be tested.
✅ Turkeys require a blood draw. Results should be available within a few days and in time for the NCW Fair, even for birds tested on August 22.
✅ The owner does not need to be present. Please provide the following information for each exhibitor:
•Name
•Mailing address
•Phone number
•Email address

✅ Test results are valid for both the Chelan County Fair and NCW Fair.

Suggested donation: $1 per animal to help cover testing costs.

These testing events are made possible by generous volunteers. Please be respectful of their time and efforts.

📣Wenatchee FFA,

If you are participating in the NCW Fair in Waterville, there will be another fair work day this Saturday, August 8th, from 8 AM to 11 AM. If you are showing an animal, this is a great way to give back to the fairgrounds that provide us the opportunity to exhibit and showcase our projects. If attending: wear work clothes/clothes you don't mind getting dirty, bring work gloves, consider carpooling together, and bring water!

Join us this Saturday from 8am-11am for some NCW Fair prep on our midway! Lots of jobs for all ages/skill levels!

Our Wenatchee FFA members had an incredible time at the Washington Agricultural Leadership Experience (WALE) in Yakima! 🍎🐄

Throughout the conference, students explored Washington's agriculture industry through hands-on industry tours, participated in leadership workshops, and connected with FFA members from across the state while learning from the Washington FFA State Officers. We are so proud of Penelope Moore, Noelle Poole, Dalylah Mukai, and Haylee Sprauer for stepping outside their comfort zones, building new skills, and representing Wenatchee FFA so well. 💙💛

Wenatchee FFA!

We have our second cutting of hay being baled and would love the help to buck it Saturday morning! If you have some time, maybe you are bored, need a good workout, or want to see some familiar FFA faces, come to the land lab Saturday, July 25th at 9 AM on Red Apple Road across from the track! Bring water, work gloves, and wear jeans and boots. The more hands we can get to help, the faster it will go to beat the heat!

& Yes, for those who are participating in the NCW Waterville Fair, there is the fair barn work day as well going on at the same time, so if you are only going to Chelan County Fair, come on over and try to beat Mr. Asplund in a hay bale toss!

NCW Fair Participants!

NCW Fairgrounds in Waterville has a Fair Workday this Saturday, July 25th, from 8 AM - 11 AM. If you can make it, please attend to help prep for the fair and your exhibit! There will be many hands-on jobs available to set up pens and get the stalls and barns fair-ready! Make sure to bring work gloves, appropriate clothing so you are covered from dirt but cool enough for the heat, and water!
