Among Dr Floyd's greatest accomplishments during his presidency:

1) Enrollment increased by over 30%, providing more opportunities for students from diverse backgrounds to pursue their educational dreams.

2) Research funding reached record levels exceeding $300 million annually.

3) Dr Floyd challenged Cougs to give, and we responded with an unprecedented $1 billion capital campaign.

4) Dr. Floyd rebuilt and enhanced student housing for the first time in decades, built top level research facilities, combined our strengths into programs of international respect, and added world class athletic facilities.

4) In his final days, he secured bi-partisan approval for the now named Elson S Floyd College of Medicine, combining the medical teaching strengths of WSU's pharmacy, nursing and medical research areas under one roof, alongside world class medical instruction with a focus on our state's rural need for doctors and practioners.
