WSU Physics & Astronomy Outreach

WSU Physics & Astronomy Outreach Do you love physics and learning about how the universe works? From cosmology to the tiniest atom, w Remember: Everyone is born a scientist!

The Department of Physics & Astronomy at WSU wants to share the wonderful world of physics with you! We will let you know when we have kid-friendly, public events and try to catch as much outreach in-action that we can. Follow us on Facebook to stay in the know and to learn some fun physics in the process! At WSU, our department performs fundamental research in the following broadly defined areas:

Acoustics; Astronomy and Astrophysics; Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics; and Condensed Matter Physics and Materials Science. All research areas include a strong presence in Computational Physics. The Department’s research activities have important applications in energy, contemporary technology, national security, and other areas of national need. If you are excited about science, talk to your local science teacher about planning a field trip to our department! We would be happy to help you build a schedule that could include lab tours, demonstrations, a trip through the OSA/SPIE sponsored laser maze and more!
