Founded in 1870, the University of Tennessee Southern is a four-year public institution, and part of the University of Tennessee System. On an historic campus located in Pulaski, Tenn., in the beautiful hills of southern Middle Tennessee, the college is convenient to both Nashville (70 miles to the north) and Huntsville, Ala.

The Tennessee Higher Education Commission has awarded a total of $1 million in grants to eight Tennessee higher education institutions, including the University of Tennessee Southern. These funds will expand resources, strengthen mental health and well-being support, and help institutions better serve military-connected students and their families.

UT Southern was awarded a $150,000 Veteran Initiatives Designation Grant, allowing the institution to establish a comprehensive support program designed to improve recruitment, enrollment, retention and completion outcomes for veterans and military on campus.

UT Southern and Giles County have formalized a new partnership designed to expand educational opportunities, strengthen agricultural engagement and increase community use of the Giles County Agri Park.

Chancellor Melinda Arnold and Giles County Executive Graham Stowe signed a memorandum of understanding today, establishing a framework for collaboration at the approximately 45-acre Agri Park in Pulaski. Here's to forging partnerships and building a stronger community!
