We’ve been actively reaching out to local businesses and corporations for donations to help us stock and refresh our teachers’ lounge for the upcoming school year.

We are also still accepting donations from our students’ families and our amazing community! Every donation, big or small, helps us show our teachers just how much we appreciate everything they do.

🚨 Lura Sharp Community, we have a question!

Who’s ready to dust off those dance shoes, warm up those vocal cords, practice those magic tricks, juggle, tumble, tell jokes or show off that very specific talent you’ve been waiting years to share?
We’re thinking about bringing back the Lura Sharp PTG Talent Show and we want to know— would you be interested?!

WHO CAN PERFORM?
Students in Grades 3-5 • Teachers • Parents

WHAT DOES IT ENTAIL?
🎭 an interest form would be sent home to families for those who would like to participate to complete and send back to school
🎤 the PTG will connect with each act to learn more about your performance and provide specific dates for rehearsal and the live show
🎬 “tryout” night — in late September/early, each act will perform once so we can make sure everything is safe and school-appropriate
🤹🏼 the Talent Show would take place on the Friday before Thanksgiving, with a dress rehearsal the evening before
🍿 we will be looking for a few volunteers to run concessions and admissions
🎟️ admission — $5/adult • students and siblings attend FREE!
🏆 and of course… we’ll have fun prize categories, so come ready to wow the crowd!

We recently held our summer PTG meeting, where we reviewed our budget, planned for the upcoming school year, and brainstormed new ideas to make this year even better. We are excited for all that’s ahead and look forward to supporting our students, staff, and school community throughout the year. Be sure to mark your calendars! Here are a few upcoming reminders and important dates:

🥗 All students are eligible to receive free breakfast and lunch through the school district this school year

✏️ The school district will also provide all required school supplies for every student

🛝 Popsicles on the Playground is a free event on September 3rd @ 5pm for a fun opportunity to connect before the school year begins. More details will be shared soon!

🗒️ This year, PTG meetings will be held on the third Monday of each month (instead of Tuesdays). We’d love to see new faces! Whether you have ideas to share, want to volunteer, or simply want to learn more, everyone is welcome.

💦 Today is the last full day and WATER DAY— make sure you bring a swimsuit, extra clothes, towel, extra shoes and apply sunscreen
🎓 Today is also the last Morning Program and the Senior Walk
🚌 Early Dismissal Days: Tuesday-Friday, pickup begins at 11:20am. Be sure to send in PM routine changes to the Main Office as soon as possible
🏫 K-4th Grade Awards on Tuesday at 9am for parents of recipients
🎉 5th Grade Celebration on Wednesday at 9am
🎊 PreK Celebration on Thursday at 9:30am
