**After careful consideration, First Presbyterian Preschool made the decision to remain closed after Thanksgiving break and throughout the month of December in an effort to avoid COVID-19 exposures. Preschool will reopen on January 4th.
Prior to the beginning of the school year, the
First Presbyterian Church Session unanimously approved the recommendation from the board and director that no monthly tuition be charged in the event that the preschool would have to close for an entire month for any COVID-19 related concerns/issues.
DECEMBER TUITION IS WAIVED, and any month after that if we must remain closed for reasons such as continued increases in the cases within our area or if the Governor requires closure.**
I have been incredibly blessed to serve as the director of First Presbyterian Preschool❤ I have the privilege to teach children at such a special time in their life. Their little minds are excited and ready to learn anything, and that is what makes my opportunity so special. Their eagerness is also why I understand how fortunate I am to be trusted by the kiddos and their families.
Children may not always love to share their toys😉 but when they trust you, they DO love to share their feelings, thoughts, and ideas. I never quite know what they may have to tell me about each day that they get to see me, but whatever it is, it's important to them that I listen and care about it too! I get to teach them far more than ABC's, counting, shapes, and colors. I get the honor of teaching them about how to manage their emotions at school, because sometimes an early snack can help cure the grumpy agony of getting out of a warm, cozy bed on a Monday morning❤ Other times, a reminder of how much your mama or daddy love you, and how wonderful they are to work so hard for their family can help cure those precious sad eyes that tell me they miss their family when they have to work❤
Teaching my precious students brings my heart so much joy, and I love every single one of them dearly. I miss them already, and will miss them the rest of (the longest ever😉) Christmas break! I pray you all have a wonderful Christmas. I pray that you and your families all stay healthy and safe. Please know that making the decision to close wasn't easy, because there is so much I wanted to do and had planned for your kiddos, but keeping them healthy is what's most important. I can't wait to see your little ones in the new year! Also, I can't thank the wonderful families of our preschoolers enough for their patience, grace, understanding, and willingness to help. I am blessed to know each of you, and I'm blessed beyond measure for the opportunity to teach your precious kiddos.
