D60 Columbian Elementary

In anticipation of the upcoming advancement ceremony, our fifth graders took a final walk through the halls, where they were celebrated with applause and other congratulatory expressions.

With middle school the next step, the fifth graders proudly held signs indicating their next educational stop.

Thunderbolt Families, this is the announcement for the week of May 26th.

Shout Outs:
A big shout out to our 5th graders for being amazing on their field trip and showing the Columbian way.

For our students who continue to show amazing character at school by working hard and being kind.

Reminders:
There is no school on Monday, May 25th, in observance of Memorial Day.

Tuesday is Field Day. Please make sure students have shoes they can wear for this event, water, sunscreen and towls and swimwear under clothing for 1st-5th grade students.

Please continue to check your child's backpacks and teacher messages for events happening this week.

Students' last day is June 2nd. This is a Tuesday.

I wanted to let you know that due to the expected colder temps this week, we are moving Field Day to the following week, May 26th.

Again, Field Day will be on May 26th.

Families continue to check Dojo and your child's communication folder for important information regarding trips, grades, and events.

Wednesday: Field Day
Students should wear casual clothes. Tennis/ shoes, shoes with straps, sunglasses, a hat, towels, and sunscreen are recommended. First through 5th-grade students can have swimsuits/ trunks under casual clothes, as they will be participating in some water stations.

We see you all on Monday at 7:40. As the weather gets nicer, we have noticed that students are arriving at school before 7:40. Please do not have your child at school before 7:40. There is no supervision on the playground until 7:40. Thank you for your cooperation is keepng ours students safe.

Tonight, our Gifted and Talented students, led by Natalie Zamora, enjoyed a special evening celebrating their hard work and creativity! Families were treated to dinner while students proudly showcased their Thrively projects and accomplishments. To top off the night, each student received a solar robot kit to continue inspiring innovation, problem-solving, and hands-on learning. We are so proud of these amazing students and thankful for the opportunities that encourage their talents to shine!
