Natchitoches Central AJROTC Tops Young Guns Post 2, Extends Winning Streak to Three
Natchitoches Central AJROTC registered a strong 945.7-871.9 victory over Young Guns Post 2 in Week 6 of the 2025 National Sporter Air Rifle League, as teams approach the final stretch of the eight-week regular season. With postseason seeding and division awards coming into focus, the Louisiana squad put together its third straight win in this national contest for high school and junior rifle club teams.
The Natchitoches Central AJROTC squad, coached by Duane Bailey, improved their record to 3-1 and moved up to fifth in the Elite Division of the AJROTC conference. Top shooter Ainsley McLaren led with a 250.1 performance, joined by teammates Delilah Jackson, Johannah Chauvin and Storie Tullos in contributing to the victory. With momentum on their side, the team now rides a three-match win streak as they look ahead to a matchup with A. C. Mosley MCJROTC of Lynn Haven, Fla. (1-4).
Young Guns Post 2, led by coach Ronald Noakes from Pueblo, Colo., moves to a 3-3 record after the loss but continues to hold the number two spot in the Junior Rifle Club Elite Division. Despite a leading individual effort from Sami Langloss, who recorded 295.2, and contributions from Sutton Oliva, Kemper Bowens and Dylana Bowens, the team saw its brief two-win streak halted. They next face Clay NJROTC of Green Cove Springs, Fla. (2-3) as they work to regain momentum.
From the outset, Natchitoches Central AJROTC established control, holding a 15.3-point advantage after the kneeling stage. They widened the gap to 37.3 points following prone and sealed the win by expanding their lead to 73.8 after the standing portion, never trailing throughout the match.
Looking ahead, the league’s eight-week structure means just two regular-season contests remain before postseason brackets are set. Natchitoches Central AJROTC seeks to build on its recent run against A. C. Mosley MCJROTC (1-4), while Young Guns Post 2 prepares to take on Clay NJROTC (2-3) as both teams vie for strong finishes in their divisions.
