HEROES ELEVATE PUEBLO SEND-OFF

5th Grade Parents- You’re invited to our HEROES ELEVATE EMPATHY SEND OFF. Come and see the beautiful artwork that our scholars have created. Each scholar selected their local hero and painted a portrait of them as part of a collaborative effort to elevate empathy. Minnequa partnered with Judge Reyes, the Siddartha School in India to make this opportunity possible.

Young Educated Men
Educating our young males
Beginning on Thursday, April 14th at 7:45 a.m. we will have Power Thursday Meetings. Doughnuts and orange juice will be provided for third, fourth, and fifth grade boys in the media center. The boys will hear from male role models, and learn about striving to fulfill their own potential. The purpose of this program is to teach manhood to our male students, and give them a strong sense of purpose for achieving in school. A wide range of topics will be discussed that are vitally important to our male students. They will not only hear about vantage points in their present, but also vantage points of 10 to 20 years in the future.
The boys will have the opportunity to wear button up shirts, ties, and slacks so that they look, and feel professional. Every Thursday morning, right after we eat, the boys will hear presentations from men in the community. A wide range of topics will be addressed such as growth and development, goal setting, leadership, relationships, community development and more.
We want to help our students develop a vision for their lives. We want our students to start thinking about their own future roles, and plant seeds for their future.
If your young male is interested, they will need to turn in their permission form to be allowed in the building before school starts, which is due Wednesday, 4/13.
