Yesterday, October 7, the CSU Pueblo Foundation hosted the Developing Champions Donor Appreciation Luncheon, sponsored by SunWest Credit Union.

It was a wonderful afternoon celebrating the generous donors who invest in our students and student-athletes and help create opportunities for the next generation of champions.

We were honored to hear from:
Todd Kelly, President & CEO, Colorado State University Foundation
Dr. Rhonda Epper, President, Colorado State University Pueblo
Dylan Retzloff, CSU Pueblo Women’s Lacrosse
Dr. Paul Plinske, Vice President of Athletics & Strategic Partnerships

Thank you to our incredible donors for investing in our students, supporting their dreams, and helping develop champions—on the field, in the classroom, and in life. 🐺💙❤️

This summer, the ThunderBowl became a place of rest and preparation for crews responding to the Aspen Acres Fire.

Tents, supplies, meals and showers filled the parking area as Colorado State University Pueblo and the CSU Pueblo Foundation made campus space available to support the response. The fall issue of Insights takes you behind the scenes with the people who kept the base camp running.

For Eric and Renee Carson, a scholarship is a way to open a door.

The Carson Family Endowed Scholarship supports CSU Pueblo students from the San Luis Valley. When one recipient invited Renee to her nursing pinning ceremony, she saw how that support had reached a whole family.

Molly Charles is building her future in the community where she grew up. A Pueblo native studying creative media and leadership studies at CSU Pueblo, she says scholarship support has eased financial stress and encouraged her to keep going.

“Being supported by donors has just pushed me to be better as a student and also not to give up,” Molly says.

When the Aspen Acres Fire threatened Southern Colorado, CSU Pueblo alumni answered the call in different ways.

Haley Sue Robinson and Trysten Garcia helped get timely information to the public. Shanna Farmer coordinated relief for families, while FOX21 photojournalist Dez Rowe documented the response. Their paths crossed at a moment when clear communication, practical help and trusted relationships mattered.

One race. One community. A lasting impact for CSU Pueblo students. 🐺

Today, Ken White III presented $12,500 in proceeds from the Break Your Neck 5K to the CSU Pueblo Foundation: $10,000 for the Dr. Rahul Singh Nursing Scholarship and $2,500 for track and field. The race has now contributed more than $30,000 to the scholarship, which supports a Pueblo student each semester.

Inspired by Ken’s recovery from a broken neck, the free race brings runners, walkers and adaptive athletes together at one start line. Thank you, Ken, and everyone who helped turn this year’s race into support for future nurses and student-athletes.

Never Give Up. Never Give In. Always Pay It Forward. 💙
