Looking to partner with a local school in order to make a meaningful difference for students and families, Pueblo Toyota partnered with Baca Elementary to donate 300 supply-filled backpacks.

“This generous donation helps ensure every student has the materials they need to start the school year prepared, confident, and ready to learn,” said Baca Principal Julie Griego. “It also eases the financial burden on families while creating a stronger sense of belonging and equity among our students.”

Pueblo Toyota’s commitment to giving back closely aligns with Baca Elementary’s mission to support the whole child and remove barriers to success.

"We are incredibly grateful for their investment in our students and families and their continued commitment to making a positive difference in our community," said Principal Griego.

🦁🌿 BACA IS WILD ABOUT LEARNING! 🌿🐯
What a WILD and wonderful kickoff we had this week with our amazing Baca staff! Our teachers officially embraced our 2026–2027 theme: “Wild About Learning!” 🐆🌴🦓
Our teachers spent a lot of time engaged in professional development, collaborating, learning, planning, and getting their classrooms ready to welcome our College-Bound Roadrunners back to school. 📚✏️
We also know that a strong school starts with a strong staff culture! We made sure to carve out some time for laughter, team bonding, and simply enjoying one another. Building relationships with our students begins with continuing to build relationships with each other. ❤️
We are recharged, reconnected, and ready for another amazing year at Baca Elementary! We can’t wait to welcome our Roadrunners back and show them just how WILD we are about learning! 🐾🌿

Hello Baca Community,

Hope you are all having a wonderful summer and staying cool. It’s hard to believe but we will start our 26-27 school year soon. We are so excited to WELCOME back all of our kiddos. Our school theme this year is
“WILD ABOUT LEARNING!”

Class Rosters will be posted in the front lobby windows on Tuesday, August 11th. Students can come by and see who their classroom teacher will be. There will not be any changes to the classroom rosters as we work very hard to ensure each classroom is balanced. We would like to welcome Mrs. Herrera as our new 2nd grade teacher and Ms. Arellano as our new ESS teacher.

August 17th is an assessment day for students. When teachers return they will make contact with families to set up appointments. August 18th is our FIRST OFFICIAL DAY OF SCHOOL. Everyday counts, we want our students present and powerful. The first bell rings at 7:40, the tardy bell rings at 7:50.

Pueblo Toyota has graciously donated backpacks with school supplies for all students. So on August 18th while students are entering the building we ask that every student please take a back pack and say “thank you” to the Pueblo Toyota representative. If students have a back pack is it ok, they are welcome to get a back pack. This is such a wonderful community partnership.

As we prepare for the first day of school, we wanted to remind everyone about the new cell phone policy being implemented district-wide this year. During the school day, all personal electronic devices must be powered completely off and stored out of sight. This includes lunch time and passing periods. Students may utilize their phone at the end of the day after dismissal. This change will maximize instructional time, reduce distractions, protect privacy, and promote student academic success and well-being. Please take some time to discuss this with your student so they are prepared on the first day when the policy will go into effect. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Thank you parents for your support as we work together to create a focused learning environment for all our students.

Mark your calendar Baca will be having our BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT on Wednesday, September 23rd from 5:00-7:00 pm. We also have the IN N OUT Burger Truck. We will start selling tickets on August 18th through September 17th. Please make sure to get your tickets as soon as school begins. Visit your kiddos classroom and meet the classroom teachers.

We look forward to another year of partnership and collaboration. Together we build a stronger school community.
The office is officially open Monday –Thursday 7:30-4:00 pm.

Yesterday’s Back to School Bash was a smashing success — and a great reminder that the first day of school is right around the corner!

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, August 18, as we kick off an exciting new school year. Every student in attendance on the first day will be entered into a drawing for some fabulous prizes!

Remember: Beginning this year, all personal electronic devices — including phones, smartwatches, headphones, and gaming devices — must be turned off and put away during the school day. By unplugging from our devices, we can embrace the analog experience: meaningful, face-to-face connections that boost focus, strengthen communication, and build real-world skills.

Let’s make this the best year yet by being Present, Powerful and Empowered by Reading!
