Another levee mural piece has now been created courtesy of Denver artist, Diego Florez! Take a few minutes for our third installment of Levee Talks where Diego tells you a little about himself as well as his piece “Florezca La Folklórico.”
A huge shoutout to Ryan Yanke, Wyatt Geibig and one of our current students, Paige Hyatt for helping Diego with this piece. We have such a special community of artists.

🧑🎨Say hello to an awesome member of our artist community, alumna and new painting teacher, Shannon Palmer! Take a few moments to learn a little bit about Shannon and what she has in store for students this semester. Registration for classes is open and the link to get there is in our bio! You’re about to develop skills may not have even known you had. We’ll see you in class!
Take a few minutes and hear from one of our talented, experienced community artists, Tonio LeFebre (). He has also been getting some help from another amazing artist, Eric Sarracino, who is a very talented muralist and artist as well.
Over the last few days he took the time to talk a little bit about his history painting murals on the Arkansas River levees, both in the early 90s and today.Thank you for speaking with us,Tonio. Beautiful work.
If you’d like to paint your own mural and help Pueblo get the record back from South Korea for the world’s longest mural, head to pueblolevee.org for details on what to do! https://pueblolevee.org/
It was a wonderful semester of growth, overcoming fears and connecting for our Performance of Self class led by , Hellen Eberhardie Dunn.
Thanks, Hellen, for your guiding hand and thanks to these awesome students for your openness to trying something scary but what will prove to be very beneficial to you as creators and as human beings.
