Thank you to all of our Belmont Rattlers who participated in the Colorado State Fair Parade! You did an amazing job representing Belmont Elementary and Pueblo School District 60. It was also wonderful to see so many of our Belmont families cheering us on from the crowd! We are so proud of our Rattler community!

This is Mrs. Felzien with your weekly events and reminders for the week of August 31st through September 3rd.

Kindergarten & First Grade Family Pancake Breakfast

Kindergarten and First Grade families, please join us this Thursday, September 3rd, for our first Family Pancake Breakfast of the school year! We will be meeting in the cafeteria from 7:10–7:40 a.m. Please enter through the gym doors. A parent, guardian, or family member must accompany the student in order to attend the breakfast. We look forward to spending a wonderful morning together and enjoying some community and family time with our Rattlers!

Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day weekend is just around the corner! As a reminder, there will be no school on Monday, September 7th. We hope all of our Rattler families enjoy a safe and relaxing long weekend.

🚗 School Zone Safety Reminder

Please remember to slow down and drive carefully when traveling through our school zones, especially during arrival and dismissal. Watch closely for students and families crossing the street, follow posted speed limits, and please be patient with one another.

For the safety of all of our Rattlers, please do not double park or allow students to get out of vehicles in the middle of the road. Please pull over to a safe location before allowing your child to exit your vehicle.

Also, please watch for and follow the directions of our staff members stationed at the crosswalks. They are there to help our students and families cross the street safely. Thank you for working together with us to keep everyone safe during arrival and dismissal. Student safety is always our number one priority!

Today was a very special day at Belmont, the first day of preschool for our newest Rattlers!

Our little learners had a wonderful day meeting new friends, exploring their classrooms, and beginning their exciting school adventure. We are so proud of their bravery and can’t wait to watch them learn and grow this year!

Aloha, Belmont Rattlers!

This is Mrs. Felzien with your Weekly Events & Reminders for August 24–28! We are looking forward to a great second week of school! Our Rattlers will be diving into their learning and beginning their Beginning-of-Year assessments. These assessments help our teachers learn more about each student’s strengths and identify areas where they may need additional support.

🌊 Reminders for a Successful Week
Please make sure students arrive at school on time and ready to learn each day.
School begins at 7:45 a.m., and the tardy bell rings at 7:55 a.m.
Encourage your child to get a good night’s sleep so they are ready to do their best.
Breakfast and lunch are free for all Belmont students.
Please continue checking backpacks and communication from your child’s teacher for important information.

🚗 School Zone Safety

As we settle into our school routines, please remember to use extra caution when driving in and around our school zone, especially during morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal. Please slow down, stay alert, put phones away, and watch carefully for students and families crossing the street. Be patient with other drivers and follow all school-zone signs and traffic procedures. Safety is our number one priority, and we appreciate everyone working together to keep our Belmont Rattlers safe!

🍔 In-N-Out Meal Tickets – On Sale Now!

In-N-Out meal tickets are on sale now through September 17th for our upcoming Belmont Carnival!

Tickets are $8 each and include:

Your choice of a hamburger or cheeseburger
Chips
Drink

Important: In-N-Out meals must be purchased in advance. You will NOT be able to purchase an In-N-Out meal on the day of the Carnival, so be sure to get your tickets by September 17th!

We had a wonderful first week, and we are excited to continue building routines, making connections, and getting down to learning!

We had a wonderful turnout for our Meet and Greet tonight! It was so exciting to see our returning Rattlers and welcome our new students and families to Belmont.

We are so excited to welcome everyone back to school for the 2026–2027 school year! This is Mrs. Felzien with your weekly events and reminders for the week of August 17–21.

🌺 Monday, August 17 — Meet & Greet + Parent Information Meetings

Join us for our Meet & Greet and Parent Information Meetings! This is a great opportunity to meet your child's teacher, see the classroom, learn important information for the school year, and drop off school supplies so your child doesn't have to carry them on the first day.

Meeting Times:

🌴 Kindergarten, 2nd & 4th Grade: 3:00–4:00 PM

🌺 1st, 3rd & 5th Grade: 4:00–5:00 PM

Meetings will take place in your child's classroom.

👕 Belmont T-Shirts: All students will receive a Belmont T-shirt this week! Please make sure to sign in at the Meet & Greet so we can get your child's correct shirt size. If you are unable to attend, no worries, we will make sure we find the correct size for your student!

🌊 Tuesday, August 18 — FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!

Please help your child start the year strong by being on time and present every day!

Morning Line-Up:

Students will line up with their classes. Don't worry if you aren't sure where to go—our Belmont staff will be outside and ready to help everyone find the correct line!

🎡 Colorado State Fair Parade

The Colorado State Fair Parade is coming up quickly! We would love to have our Belmont Rattlers and their families join us and represent Belmont as part of the District 60 Team!

If your child or family would like to walk in the parade, please call the main office and let Ms. Jess know at 719-549-7502.

More information will be sent home about the parade route, where to meet, and other important details. Be sure to wear your new Belmont T-shirt and show your Rattler pride! 🐍💙

🎪 Save the Date — Belmont Carnival | September 24

Our Belmont Carnival will be held on September 24! More information about all of the carnival fun will be coming soon.

🍔 In-N-Out Burger Tickets — $8

In-N-Out Burger meals will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are $8 each and will be available for purchase from Ms. Jess at the Meet & Greet and in the main office until all tickets are sold out.

If you want In-N-Out at the Carnival, be sure to purchase your tickets early! 🍔

Yesterday’s Back to School Bash was a smashing success — and a great reminder that the first day of school is right around the corner!

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, August 18, as we kick off an exciting new school year. Every student in attendance on the first day will be entered into a drawing for some fabulous prizes!

Remember: Beginning this year, all personal electronic devices — including phones, smartwatches, headphones, and gaming devices — must be turned off and put away during the school day. By unplugging from our devices, we can embrace the analog experience: meaningful, face-to-face connections that boost focus, strengthen communication, and build real-world skills.
