Just sent my “almost-daily-email” to my subscriber list. Today’s topic is this: “What IS The Life I REALLY Want!?” With all the emphasis.

It’s a great message. In fact, I think it’s one of my best ever. Because it cuts to the heart of it. It explains the importance of this question; and the impact of it.

Sadly, though, it’s one most people will never ask. Or even think about it. Or ever take seriously. Because they’re too caught up in the day-to-day “stuff” of their lives. They’re focusing on the urgent, not the important.

This? Your life? It’s the important.

You might have noticed I said “subscribers” earlier when I was talking about my email list, right? And you might be thinking there’s a cost to subscribe to my email list.

There’s not.

There’s just a trade. You send your email address to me at [email protected] and I add you to the list. Plus I’ll send you my free PDF “The 7 Practices of Creating A Life You REALLY Want.”

And if you ever get tired of my emails? There’s an “unsubscribe” button at the bottom of every email I send out. Because I only want to talk with people who want to hear from me.

This is a low-risk and – I believe – significant way for you to start transforming your life from what it is into what you want it to be.

What have you got to lose? Or more importantly…what have you got to gain? A lot, I’d wager. Why don’t you find out for yourself. Send me your email today.

Let me know…I’ll be here.

I’m working on a new mini-course called The Blueprint to Creating The Life You Really Want. It’s designed to fit between The Roadmap, which is my free 7 Practices PDF designed to help you begin your journey to that life, and The Foundation; the first level of my coaching program called “Build The Life You REALLY Want!”.

(Btw, the Roadmap PDF is available to anyone who signs up for my frequent-email list. All you have to do to get the Roadmap PDF is to send your email address to me at [email protected])

As I was working on the content for the Blueprint, I was giving attention to the concept of accomplishing something; of getting something done. I began to consider the dynamics which occur when people don’t. The phrase I kept hearing was “do it anyway.”

This phrase just resonated with me – and continues to. When I think about the people I know who have, and are, creating the lives they truly want, this is a common denominator. No fanfare, no big deal, no drama. They just quietly “do it anyway.”

When people tell them that what they’re going after is too big; when they’re told what they want is impossible; when circumstances and situations look like they’re not lining up; or when anything else happens which would take others off course…these people “do it anyway.”

Whatever “doing it anyway” is, or means, at that moment in their lives.

And it doesn’t mean they don’t acknowledge a situation or circumstance; they do.

What they don’t do though, is allow it to have power over them. The way through for them is to “do it anyway.”

Is it the way through for you?

Find out. This is powerful. Try it on. See how and where it fits in your life.

And when you do, if you find yourself starting to push back, or maybe a little doubt or fear starts to creep in…well, just do it anyway!

I’d love to hear what happens.

More later.

I did something new yesterday. Something I’ve never done before. And frankly, something that took me right out of my comfort zone.

I did a deep-stretch class at my gym. I get really tight in my legs, hips, knees and my back. And when I work out, because I do a lot of cardio, it feels like it just gets worse. So I decided to try this deep stretch class.

It’s in a hot room with infrared lamps keeping it hot. They give me a mat, then they tell me to get blocks, a belt and a bolster…another word for long pillow. And the instructor, in her calm, peaceful voice with nice quiet music in the background, talks the class of probably twenty people through various poses, which we hold for three to five minutes.

I mentioned that taking this class took me out of my comfort zone, right? Well, just walking into the room did that. So I had to practice what I preach.

I had to get comfortable being uncomfortable.

And I did. I just dove in. Didn’t worry – too much - about whether I was “doing it right” or not. I just did it.

The class was an hour long. And when the instructor told us we were done, I really thought it had only been about 20 minutes or so. I was shocked when I looked at my watch and saw that it had been a full hour.

I also thought I would really hurt, as the stretching did hurt. But in a good way, you know?

Here are my takeaways: I did something I’ve never done before. It really helped. And while it hurt for a few minutes, I felt great after the session. I’ll continue these sessions, because they’re good for my body, and for my spirit.

But I never would have done it if I hadn’t been willing to do the first thing: To get comfortable, being uncomfortable.

Take away from that what you will. But there’s a lot of depth in this one.

For more stuff like this, sign up for my multiple times a week newsletter. Send your email address to [email protected] and I'll add you to the list.

When you do, I’ll also send you a gift. I’ll send you the PDF of my 7 Practices to Building The Life You Want. It’s basically a roadmap to doing that.

Talk soon.

Ahhh…Monday’s!! I used to dread them. I remember in my “previous life” that when Friday at 5PM rolled around, (which I celebrated; frankly, I probably lived for Fridays at 5), there was always a tinge of “Monday-dread” lurking just underneath.

Maybe more than a tinge. Which just got worse as the weekend went on. A kind of slow, psychological torture.

Because my weekends – essentially, what was my time – didn’t seem like my real life. It seemed as thought it was a BREAK from my real life; from my reality. A break from what I thought was my real life of Monday through Friday (and sometimes Saturdays); of the “grind.”

Meaning…Get up. Fight traffic to work. Deal with people I didn’t want to deal with. Fight traffic to go home. Sleep (not well). Rinse and repeat the next day. Then the next. And so on and so on. Seemed kind of endless; mindless; even perhaps pointless? Over and over and over again.

Felt almost like the movie “Groundhog Day.” (If you don’t know that movie, Google and watch it. It’s funny, yes. But it can also feel very real. Like your real life, maybe?)

But I’ve gotten over that.

Now, my real life feels like what my weekend life used to feel like. Yes, I still get up. In fact, I get up earlier than ever. But I don’t grind anymore. I don’t fight anymore. I discovered that grinding and fighting isn’t fun…it’s, well…it’s grinding & fighting. And that’s exhausting spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Now I enjoy my life. I’m having fun. I’m smiling and laughing more. I don’t take myself nearly as seriously as I used to. I’m not exhausted. I’m energized instead.

And I look forward to Monday’s – to every day, really – because I’m excited about what the day(s) will bring.

This is what building the life you REALLY want will do looks like from a practical perspective. It’s what it’ll do for you, when you decide to do it. It’ll reignite your excitement, your passion for living, your “carpe diem” (seize the day) mentality.

Want to do this for yourself? In your own life? That’s what I do. I show people how to create lives they really want, and then how to go make those lives actually happen.

I’m a published author. A speaker. A coach. A workshop facilitator. A guide. With one mission these days: to help those who are tired of “the grind” and want to find and create the life they want. The one they truly want.

Reach out. Call. Text. Email. Whatever works best for you. We can talk about it with no obligation on your part. My contact info is all on my website at either www.craftmethodcoaching.com or www.thecraftmethodgroup.com

Today’s the day! The first day of the beta-test for The Foundation. The five people who are in it with me are ready to go, and we’ll meet over Zoom this evening.

They’ve agreed to help me, in exchange not for money, but instead for their time and their feedback. They’re going to help me make this program the smoothest and most effective it can be.

The Foundation is the 6-session introductory component to my full strategy & coaching program called “Build The Life You REALLY Want!”

In it, we’ll cover the basics of what it takes to do just that; to create a life that someone really wants, and not just a life they feel they have to live. Nobody wants to feel “stuck.” This is the way out of feeling and being that way.

Normally, these sessions will run once a week over 6 weeks, but for this beta test - and because I want to make it available to the public as quickly as possible - we’re compressing the time frame into 6 sessions over two weeks.

During and after that, they'll share what they like, what they don’t like, their thoughts on how to make it better, and everything else. Nothing is off the table here.

I know that I know, that this is effective and that it works. It’s working for me and for many others as well. I just want to hear from others as they go through it from a learning perspective, if there are ways to make it just a little sharper and better.

I know they’ll let me know. They’re excited – and I am too.

I’ve been effectively helping people find their best selves as both salespeople and small business owners – meaning I’ve been coaching & strategizing with them - for many years. So this is nothing new to me.

But hey, It’s been a minute. And for the past 5 years, I’ve kind of been locked away in a cave – at least in my mind – learning, working with, adopting, implementing, and formatting this content.

And I’d be lying if I said I wan’t just a shade nervous…but it’s more of a nervous excitement to be sharing this.

I’ve experienced very cool results in my own life, and now I want others to be able to do the same.

I’ll keep you posted as we go.

More tomorrow.

I believe that there’s power in hanging around with like-minded people. Meaning people who are in pursuit of the same things you are.

Why? Because hanging around with someone who has the same interests or pursuits as you can reinforce your pursuit of whatever it is you’re after.

Now, that can work in two different ways. One way it can work is that if the shared pursuit is negative or dark; then that’s where the reinforcement will lie.

The other way of course, is when that same reinforcement is positive. That can lead to amazing new things. Which is my preference, by the way.

And here’s another thought: Like-minded people can be very different people.

The beta-testers in my six-session introductory course called The Foundation are all very different people. They come from all walks of life. And really, if it weren’t for their common pursuit, they probably would never have met.

But they will. Because they’re doing two things: One, they’re helping me by giving feedback on the course content. And two, which is most important, they’re all pursuing a life they really want to live. All of them. Which will lead to positive and amazing new things for all of them too.

Those things will also all be different for each of them, by the way. But, man…it’s cool!

It’s going to be a lot of fun – for all of us.

Because The Foundation is just that. It’s the basics - the cornerstone - of getting to that life a person really wants. The content itself can be life-changing. But it’s just the beginning. There’s so much more.

And when building that life, it’s important to do it in a stackable way; where whatever follows “stacks” on what has gone before. That’s how all of my stuff is designed. And The Foundation is the first in that stack.
===
I have one spot left for a beta-tester. And registration for it closes today.

There is no financial cost this time around. Because the people who are involved in this agree to give me their time and their feedback about what I’m doing, how it hits with them, and what happens as a result of going through it – although it will be a quick trip.

We’re covering the material over two weeks, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday on Zoom for 60 to 90 minutes per session. A total of six sessions. And we’re starting this Monday, July 8th.

Want in? Let me know at [email protected] Copy the email address, give me your name & phone number, and we’ll talk briefly. This is open to you, or someone you refer.

It’s All About…FREEDOM!!

Ahh. Freedom. That’s what it’s all about, right?

Today, as a nation, we celebrate our freedom. Our independence as a country.

One of the best definitions of freedom I’ve found calls it an “absence of subjection.” Yet today, as individuals, my sense is that many people do not feel free. They instead feel bound. Like they’re in bo***ge. Trapped. Perhaps even caged.

Why? Because the life they’re living isn’t the life they want. That’s one issue. But the bigger issue? They don’t know what they want.

Yes, they may have a general sense of something, like “I want more money” or “I want a bigger house” or “I want to be happy” but that’s not knowing what you want; that’s just hopin’, wishin; and dreamin’.

Because without a way to figure that out, then without a way to find it, things become hope-less. Meaning without hope.

And I believe a lot of people are like that today. Without hope. Hope-less.

Which is a shame. Because there’s absolutely no need to be that way. Hope means to have a feeling of expectation and a desire for something to happen. Freedom means to not be subject to something. Like hopelessness or despair. That’s how the two tie together.

Because where there’s hope, there’s also freedom; or at least the beginnings of it.

They’re feelings. Not thoughts. Hope and freedom are both something you know, and experience and feel in your gut. Not in your head.

Freddy Mercury said it best way back in 1984 with his song…”I Want To Break Free!” It sold 1,200,000 copies then. Before the age of digital or YouTube. Back when records were vinyl and you had to go buy one in a brick-&-mortar store. Freedom resonates with people. They all want it.

Do you? Or someone you know? If so, let’s talk. You know how to reach me.

Enjoy the holiday today. And reflect on your freedom, won’t you?

See you tomorrow.

07/03/2024

Good. Better. Awesome. Amazing.

So here’s the thing. Your life, or somebody you may know, could be living a life that you wouldn’t classify as any of the things in the first sentence. It’s possible, right?

In fact, you, or they, might say that life is bad. Or even worse. And today, it could be.

But there’s a way to stop all of that. It uses dynamics from pattern interrupts, giving attention to, and more. But it’s simple. And it’s powerful. It’s 3 words. Those three words ae this: “up until now.”

As in, “Up until now, my life has been bad…” or “up until now, I’ve had this bad habit…” Or even “Up until now, I’ve been unhealthy…” Whatever it is. You’ll have to fill in your own blank here.

But the words “up until now”, especially when spoken aloud, have major power. They’re a pattern-interrupt. Another way to say it is this: You’re “stopping the madness.”

Because when you say these words, you’re consciously interrupting the pattern – whatever it is, and most are unconscious – that is feeding the life you don’t like.

You can’t just say it once, either. You need to incorporate it into your awareness and into your vocabulary.

Meaning every time you feel yourself wanting to gripe or complain, give attention to this instead: Say “up until now,” then fill in the blank of whatever it is you’re wanting to gripe or complain about, self-criticize, or whatever it is you’re not liking.

You can use it with other people too. Kind of. In a roundabout way. Something like: “Up until now, this person has really gotten under my skin,” etc. You get the idea.

You can’t change anyone else – that’s out of your control – but you can interrupt your old pattern, and change your reaction to a response. This is a good one, btw.

By saying this, you’re acknowledging - not ignoring - what has been up until now, but you’re also not accepting that old paradigm.

You’re pattern-interrupting so you can set the stage for something different.

When you’re speaking your dreams for example, declare “this, or something better,” after you’ve defined whatever it is you’re going after or want.

And if you said this is another pattern interrupt, you’d be correct. But this one is even more. It’s stating your intentions and setting your expectations at a higher level than they are now.

All of this is powerful, life-changing stuff. And it’s not hard. It’s being aware and committing to doing it. And you’ll forget. Guaranteed.

But when you forget, at some point, you’ll remember. That’s the beginning of awareness. And as you become more aware of it, you’ll just get better and better at it and this’ll get easier and easier.

It can take you out of bad to good. From good to better. From better to awesome and from awesome to…well, to amazing. If you want amazing – even if you’re in “bad-land” right now, start with these.

Commit to them. And watch your world change.

The Main Thing Is The Main Thing Is The Main Thing.

I LOVE this saying. Stephen Covey coined it, and I haven’t thought about it for years.

I was reminded of it the other day when I was reading an article about Caitlin Clark the other day – you know her or have probably heard of her – and the author of the article used this phrase.

She’s the University of Iowa basketball player who set so many records in both women’s and men’s basketball; led her team to the national championship this year; immediately transitioned int the WNBA; and has signed major endorsement deals with Nike, Gatorade, State Farm, Wilson and others.

All because she does one thing. She keeps the main thing, the main thing. And for her, it’s giving attention to basketball.

She’s had a rough start in the WNBA. It’s not college – it’s the pros. It’s faster, tougher, and lots of players in that league have not welcomed her with open arms.

She has tons of distractions, too; she could easily get sidetracked. But she doesn’t.

Because if Caitlin has a “secret-sauce?” It’s this: She keeps the main thing, the main thing.

What’s your main thing? Are you keeping the main thing the main thing, or are you getting sidetracked and distracted by everything going on around you in the world at large, or in your own personal world?

If you’re getting distracted, I’m going to invite you to do one thing: Get back to keeping your main thing – whatever it is – the main thing in your life. Give it attention. Lots of attention. And watch your world change.
===

That’s what the beta of The Foundation is all about. Learning how to keep the main thing the main thing. Four people are signed up to help me test it. I’ve got one spot left.

And either it gets filled, or it doesn’t. That doesn’t matter, because it’s not the main thing.

The main thing is making sure the people who are beta-testers have an amazing and life-changing experience.

If that spot doesn’t get filled, we’ll go with four people instead of five. However, if you of know someone - and that includes you - who would like to join us, let me know. You know how to reach me.

Registration closes Friday.

More tomorrow. The main thing. Pretty darn cool.

Words have power. Power to create, and power to destroy.

I’m not trying to preach here, but It says right there in Proverbs 18:21, in the Bible that the power of death and life are in the tongue.

Meaning that you can use your words to hurt and destroy, or to create and build up.

That old saying “sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me?” Well, it’s wrong. Dead wrong. Because words do – and can – hurt others. Or hurt you.

I believe that. Fully. I’ve seen it. And I’ve done it. On both sides. I’ve hurt others with words, and have been hurt.

I bet you have too.

I also believe that the words someone declares, those words generate and drive what they receive. Their results.

In the case of someone’s life, if all they do is go around complaining about how bad things are, about how difficult the economy or business is, how weird the societal, cultural or political situations are, what do you think their lives are like?

On the other hand, if someone is always looking for the opportunity in situations and circumstances; if they an keep eye turned towards what’s good instead of what isn’t, and they’re always speaking that way? What do you think their lives are like?

The very successful people that I know…and I know a few (actually, more than a few), all fall into the second category. And that doesn’t mean they ignore what’s going on around them – believe me, they know – they just choose not to dwell on it.

Because they know that no matter what happens externally, they are greater than any circumstance or situation in their lives. It’s not that they “roll with the punches.” That reeks of passivity. They're not passive.

No. They know how to improvise, adapt and find a way to overcome, go around, go through, or whatever they see or feel they can do. They’re much like Bruce Lee’s famous quote, “Be like water.”

And the MOST successful people I know? They declare these intentions; they speak them. Verbally. Often. And loudly, too.

Words have power. And the spoken word? The verbalized word? Those have ultimate power.

Speak out loud what you want today. Again, not preaching, but when God created the universe, He didn’t think it into existence; He spoke it into existence.

Hmmm…

I’ll leave that here for you.

I still have one opening for you, or someone you think would benefit, for the beta-test of The Foundation. This opportunity closes this Friday, July 5th.

Here’s a thought. What if it all works out?

What I mean by that is…What if everything works out for you?

Your life.

Your relationships.

Your financial situation and dreams.

Your career.

Your…well, YOU fill in the blank. What if it - whatever it is - all works out for you?

What then?
It might be worth giving some attention to, and spending a little time on.

You see, most people are focused on the opposite. They’re stuck in the worry and fear cycle of what if it DOESN’T work out. And I mean about anything. About everything.

And man, they get dug in on it, too. Something good happens for them, and instead of appreciating or celebrating it, they instead immediately jump to the dark side. Of worrying about "the next bad thing" that could happen.

What’s the point of that?

There are two types of thoughts you have. Thoughts about what you can control or change, and thoughts about you can’t control or change.

Thoughts about what you can control or change make you happy. Thoughts about what you CAN’T control or change, make you unhappy.

Don’t make yourself unhappy.

Consider this instead: What if it all works out?

I’ll just leave that there.
===

I’ve still got one seat left for anyone who would like to help me and four other people beta-test The Foundation; the 6-session lead-in to my full coaching program called “Living a Life You REALLY Want to Live,” which is all about it all working out for you.

Let me know if that’s you; there’s even a free git I’ll give you. Reach
out to me at [email protected] with your name and phone number; we’ll talk for a couple of minutes and see what’s what.

We start July 8th.

See you tomorrow.
