Independence High School

IHS Summer School will be all four weeks of June, Monday - Thursday 8:30 am - 11:30 am & 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm. Free breakfast and lunch will be available. There will be no school on Monday, June 15 for the Juneteenth Holiday. That week school will be held Tuesday - Thursday.

Summer IHS office hours are:
June: Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 3:30 pm
July: Wednesday 8:00 am - 3:30 pm
The school will be closed Monday, June 15 for Juneteenth.

Free summer meals are available for all children 0–18 in Provo City School District!

The Summer Lunch Program will run June 1–July 16, Monday through Thursday. No meals will be served on Fridays.

Breakfast: 8:00–9:00 a.m.
Lunch: 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Meals will be served at Franklin, Provo Peaks, Spring Creek, Sunset View, Timpanogos, Westridge, Independence High, and Provo High.

A summer lunch menu and program information will be sent home with every elementary student soon.

Some of Brandon's and Russel's students got to go see how our trash is actually taken care of. Who knew we had falcons at the landfill?!!

Haley's Biology classes successfully raised and released trout. This was such an amazing experience for the students.

May 2026 End of School Information:

Senior Banquet for all Seniors and graduating Juniors is Thursday, May 14 @ 6:00 pm @ IHS.

Last Week of School Schedule:
Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th is regular schedule
Wednesday 20th is early out at 12:30 pm
Thursday 21st--Early out at 12:30 pm, graduation practice at 10:00 am, graduation at 7:00 pm
Friday 22nd--Provo Rec Center Day from 8:30 to noon, sack lunches provided, the bus will return to IHS at noon. Students may choose to stay at the Rec Center but those students will need to provide their own transportation home

Graduation:
Graduation practice is Thursday, May 21 at 10 am at IHS
Graduates need to be at IHS no later than 6:25 to line up and prepare for graduation
Graduation ceremony is at 7:00 pm at the field behind IHS
