A company our venture fund is invested in has created Bonfire, a platform to create 3D/interactive games that run on desktop, mobile and VR headsets including the Meta Quest, and Pico headsets. The dates for the next cohort of my Startup Ignition entrepreneur bootcamp have been set! February 19-21, 2025. It will be held in the kiln co-working space in Provo, Utah.
The bootcamp is a 3-month intensive experience that helps startup ventures (over 600 alumni) do the right things in the right order and avoid most mistakes that kill startups. It's a "tough love" reality check for entrepreneurs that includes more than 3 days of in-class experience (begins with 3 days plus a webinar later) followed by 3 months of mentoring.
Recently, Startup Ignition cracked the code on enhancing the experience with AI so the arduous task of actually following lean startup principles and validating a business model (finding product-market fit). Utah Angels was the leading (and at times the only) angel investing group in Utah from the 1990s though about 2010, placing over $100 million in investments. In 2010, the members decided to sunset the group and give way to the next generation of investors, which gave rise to UA2.
