Speaker Highlight: Jeff Thompson!✨

We are so excited to introduce Jeff Thompson as a featured speaker for the BYU Healthcare Leadership Conference!

Jeff Thompson serves as the Director of the Sorensen Center for Moral and Ethical Leadership and is a professor at BYU, holding an MBA from BYU and a PhD in Organizational Behavior from the University of Minnesota. An award-winning scholar and author of The Zookeeper’s Secret: Finding Your Calling in Life, his expert research centers on business ethics, work as a calling, and meaningful work.
His work on purpose and organizational behavior has earned national recognition, including top publication awards from the Academy of Management, and has been published in elite journals like Administrative Science Quarterly. He brings an experienced and practical approach to building ethical, purpose-driven cultures that inspire healthcare professionals and teams!

Speaker Highlight: Gordon Harkness!

Gordon W. Harkness, MD is a Medical Director for OptumCare Utah, where he focuses on educating clinicians on Medicare diagnosis documentation and coding, quality metrics, and patient experience. He brings nearly two decades of clinical experience, having practiced Family Medicine in Provo, Utah for 18 years with Intermountain Medical Group.

During his time at Intermountain, Dr. Harkness held several physician leadership roles, including Region Medical Director, Family Medicine Service Line Associate Medical Director, and Medical Group Board Member. His experience combines clinical practice, physician education, and medical group leadership, with a focus on delivering high-quality, value-based care. We are so excited to hear from him!
