Meet TMA Alum Johnathan Tanner!
Johnathan is currently performing in the Broadway National Tour of The Outsiders, playing the role of Chet, one of the Socs. Johnathan graduated from BYU in 2024 with a BFA in Music Dance Theatre.
“Touring with a Broadway show has been an exhilarating experience, but it has also tested me physically, mentally, and spiritually. I have really learned how to hold on to my faith and my standards in ways that I haven’t had to before. Praying, going to church, and studying the scriptures has really helped me to stay grounded, as well as finding Jesus in my everyday life.”
What has been your favorite Broadway show to see?

Meet TMA Alum Caleb Hafen!
Caleb is currently performing in Broadway’s Harry Potter and the Cursed Child—playing Cedric Diggory and James Potter, and understudying Albus Potter. Caleb graduated from BYU in 2023 with a BFA in Music Dance Theatre and minors in Chemistry and Microbiology.
“I’ve met some of the most Christlike people within the theatre industry. I’ve seen how our Heavenly Parents have shown up for people on every walk of life. Lines that might separate people don’t keep our God from mourning with those that mourn, and celebrating with those that have found genuine happiness. Jesus is the greatest example of breaking boundaries to show love through action.”
How have you shown love through your actions?
