Why Kids Today Have It Worse Than Their Parents 08/01/2012

Another reason why we created Student Genius:

"Young people are facing far higher levels of unemployment and under-employment. The official jobless rate for 18-24 year olds is more than double that for those between 35 and 54, and the rate of underemployment is even higher.

By some estimates, more than half of all college grads under age 25 are either looking for work or stuck in jobs that don’t require a bachelor’s degree.

Many of today’s 20-somethings, therefore, are stuck on the sidelines for what should be — and what was for their parents — their most important years for wage growth and career development."

Why Kids Today Have It Worse Than Their Parents The parents of today's youth also came of age in the midst of a brutal recession. But for that generation, unlike for this one, the situation quickly improved.

Student Genius Canvas: My notes of Stephen R. Covey's funeral 07/23/2012

Our co-founder attended Stephen R. Covey's funeral this Saturday July 21, 2012

Here are his notes:

My wife and I attended Stephen R. Covey's funeral on Saturday. We wanted to honor him and remember him because of the role he played in my life (he wrote my MBA letter of recommendation), and we wanted to remember him as his family remembers him. I took notes of what his children, his brother, and President Eyring said about him. My favorite quote was from President Eyring, "We rejoice with you in his life and accomplishments. He was an influence for good. He magnified his gifts."
