We congratulate Dr. Dean R. Wheeler on his new appointment as chemical engineering department chair. Wheeler’s appointment is effective December, 2022.
We would also like to thank Tom Fletcher for the years of dedicated time and service he has given to the College of Engineering.
We appreciate all of our faculty members who elevate the College of Engineering through their commitment to education and service.

Awesome work coming out of our department by on Improving academic outcomes for minority students by highlighting the work of Norbert Rillieux https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S174977282200001X
It lays out the argument for why discussing the work of Norbert Rillieux can improve student outcomes for black students and discusses ways to incorporate his vacuum pan distillation process into Chemical Engineering courses like thermodynamics, separations and others.
