About a month ago, our Kodály Certification program— Kodály Certification - InterMuse Academy at BYU—reached out to BYU Magazine to see if they might be interested in featuring our program and the work we do in music teacher training.
To my surprise, they reached out to interview me personally. It was definitely outside my comfort zone (I would have much preferred the spotlight to be on InterMuse itself!), but I had a wonderful time talking with them and sharing the heart behind what we do.
I’m grateful they were able to highlight not only some of my own experiences, but more importantly, the mission of InterMuse—helping music educators grow as musicians and teachers so they can bless the lives of countless students.
This program has been shaped by so many incredible people over the past 30 years, and I’m grateful to be just one small part of that story.

Music for All The BYU InterMuse Academy for Kodály Certification trains music teachers in Kodály techniques, giving students confidence in music learning.

I absolutely love working with the BYU InterMuse Youth Choir Camp each summer. I am especially excited about this summer as it will be the 30 Year anniversary of InterMuse and we are planing some wonderful celebrations. I can't wait to work with these awesome an inspiring children and adults once again. It is going to be a wonderful time!

I’m starting a children’s choir right here in our community, and I’d love for your family to be part of it!
For over 30 years, I’ve had the joy of directing children’s choirs, helping kids discover the fun of making music together. As a former member of the Tabernacle Choir, I bring a lifelong love of music and experience in nurturing young voices. My goal is to create a space where children can grow musically, make friends, and gain confidence—all while having a lot of fun singing in harmony with others.
