Last weekend, School One and Write Rhode Island were at Indie Comics Creator Con (IC3), a creator-first convention built for independent artists, writers, and small-press publishers.

School One students were invited to take photos for the event and earn community service hours! These are some of the amazing photos they captured. Shout out to Rooney, Hayden, Camille, Miley, Ayler and Ollie for their great work!

Another great Fall Festival here at School One!

Last night students, staff, families, alumni, and community members gathered to ring in the new season. Together we enjoyed food, games, face painting, music by our students, and great company!

A huge thank you to all of our staff, students and parents who helped us make Fall Fest an amazing time all around!

Today School One said farewell to our lovely Office Manager, Lida. Lida spent many years with us, greeting students with a warm smile in the morning, keeping the ramen closet stocked, and even using her sewing skills to hem the occasional prom dress. She wasn’t one for photos, often working quietly behind the scenes, but her impact was massive. She will be missed dearly, but she will always be a part of the School One family. Join us as we wish her well on all of her future endeavors!

This past Wednesday School One partook in our favorite annual tradition, Farm Day!

Students enjoyed crafts, games, time in the sun, and the lake while getting a chance to make new friends and spend time with old ones.

Thank you to our wonderful student Candience, for taking some of these photos!

We’re officially ready for fall now, but we’re already thinking about next year!

As this year’s Farm Day steadily approaches, we’re taking a look back at all the fun we’ve had on Farm Days past!

Farm Day is a longstanding School One tradition. Every Fall, we enjoy a community day at Austin Farm, farm of Brian Bishop and late and beloved faculty member Laurie Spry. Students and staff spend the day playing games, swimming in the pond, having a cookout, and generally enjoying each other’s company in the great outdoors.

We can’t wait to get back! If you’ve had the chance to join us, comment your favorite Farm Day memory below!
