Do mountains last forever? 🗻 Grade 4/5 is conducting a lab to explore weathering — how solid rocks break into smaller pieces. In this lab, students use sugar cubes as a model for rocks. Through lots of sugar shaking, students will discover why the tops of mountains are jagged, yet their bottoms are rounded.
The ideal that guides Community Prep is Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision of the “Beloved Community” - widely different groups of people bound together with love and respect, working toward a just society and understanding that our differences are our strength. Our goal is to nurture and sustain an environment in which all ─students, alumni, families, faculty, staff, trustees, volunteers and visitors─ are recognized and valued both as members of the school community and as irreplaceable individuals.
