We're so proud of Arden F. ’35 for placing top 10 NATIONALLY in Creative Communication's national poetry contest! πŸ“πŸ†

This incredible achievement started right in the classroom. When her teacher, Katie Nelson, read Arden’s writing earlier this school year, she instantly recognized her special gift and took the initiative to submit her work to the national stage.

Out of thousands of entries across the country, Arden’s poem, β€œA Stolen Wish,” was selected as one of the best in the K–3 division for its creativity and literary merit. Her winning piece will officially be published in the upcoming A Celebration of Poets anthology this fall! 🌟

Math is way more fun when you get your hands dirty. 🌾

Earlier this year, our 3rd graders brought their math lessons outside to design real garden beds. They mapped out scale models on grid paper, timed their planting calendars around the fall frost, calculated crop yields, and used Quaker consensus to choose the final garden plans as a team. These young mathematicians didn't just solve problems on a worksheet. They applied complex, real-world strategy from start to finish! 🌿

Let's wrap up our Immersion Week highlights with a creative reset for classic campus history! For our final Immersion spotlight, "Reclaimed & Reimagined," Upper School students worked with historic pieces from the Rachael Thayer House, home to our Head of School, Katie Titus. Katie was there in full support throughout the process, listening to our students' ideas and encouraging them as they took ownership of each step of the restoration. Together with expert guidance and community support, students rolled up their sleeves to repair age-worn frames, sand down tired finishes, and apply fresh, modern designs, giving these heavily used items a beautiful second act for our campus community! πŸͺ‘βœ¨

Building skills, confidence, and structures from the ground up! πŸ”¨πŸ“

Today's Immersion highlight is from "Build Your Knowledge of Building"β€” guided by carpentry professional and former MB teacher Jeremy Saksik. Our Upper School students stepped into the workshop to master power tool safety, woodworking techniques, and construction fundamentals. Teaming up from blueprint to final build, they put their design plans into action to measure, cut, and craft lasting additions right here on campus!

Big goals. Big dreams. Even bigger community. Thank you, MB! πŸ’™

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we officially exceeded our aspirations for the year, committing $7.7 million in total gifts and raising $1.18 million for the Moses Brown Fund! Every dollar directly supports our students, their growth, and their future. We couldn't do this without you. Thank you for making this year one to remember! ✨

More Stewardship in Action! Let’s continue today’s Immersion highlights by Giving Back to Our Elders! 🌼

Our Upper School students visited local senior communities to spend quality time socializing, sharing personal stories, and leading engaging group games with residents. By stepping up to combat loneliness and bring vibrant energy into nursing homes, our students experienced the power of returning care to our elders who have taught us so much throughout their lives. πŸ’›βœ¨
