We all know the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell, but our 8th graders put that knowledge into action by building life-sized plant and animal cell structures. Using everyday objects to map out organelle functions, students applied core biology concepts to analyze the structures that keep living organisms functioning. Check out these unique models, including one made from a recycled computer! 🔋🌱

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Aiyana G. ’28 and Nas ’27 took the initiative to organize an immersive cultural learning experience focused on how dance can bridge connections across a community. MB had the pleasure of welcoming Del Alma Dance Company to campus for a hands-on salsa workshop, giving participants a meaningful look into the rhythm, history, and shared joy that brings people together through Latin dance.

Special thanks to Victor and the Del Alma team for bringing their energy to campus and creating such a vibrant moment of connection for our students!

Have you ever been to Prudence Island? Our Upper School Environmental Science and Advanced Seminar in Studio Art students recently explored its salt marshes and rocky shorelines together!

Working alongside the Narragansett Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, students examined climate change impacts and used standard sampling methodologies to survey invasive Asian shore crab populations. At the same time, student artists gathered field data and visual research for their year-long sustained inquiries into human-environment relationships. This collaboration allowed students to experience firsthand how scientific inquiry and artistic analysis intersect to tell the story of our changing coastal ecosystems!

Let’s take a look back at how our Middle School team trips went! 🚣‍♂️🔥

A couple of weeks ago, our middle schoolers headed off campus for a few days of adventure and team building. Between kayaking, hiking, swimming, and conquering the zip lines, students spent their time stepping out of their comfort zones and encouraging one another every step of the way.
Add in some classic campfires and s’mores making, and it was the perfect way to build stronger friendships for the year ahead.

MB Theatre is thrilled to welcome Trinity Rep resident acting company member Phyllis Kay as a Visiting Artist this fall!
