In light of the recent threat against Barrington High School, The Providence Journal asked Rhode Island College Professor Frederic G. Reamer, who has extensive experience in the criminal-justice and mental-health systems, to weigh in on how schools can best deal with such challenges.

This new fellowship from the New England Board of Higher Education is designed to support the professional development of faculty who are Black, Indigenous and People of Color.
Our capital city will elect a new mayor next year. RIC student organizations, including Student Community Government, Inc. (RIC), The Anchor Newspaper, 90.7 WXIN, Anchor TV and the RIC Political Science Club, have come together to organize a 2022 forum for Providence Mayoral Democratic candidates on March 23.
One of the greatest distinctions Rhode Island College can award is an honorary degree. The Honorary Degree Committee invites members of the college community to submit nominations for those who may receive an honorary degree and/or serve as commencement speaker. Nominations are due by January 25.
Before & after: Chief James Mendonca suspended the RIC Campus Police no facial hair policy last month for in support of the Tomorrow Fund. Those beards and mustaches raised $770 to provide financial and emotional support to children with cancer and their families at Hasbro Children's Hospital!
Approximately 120,000 Rhode Islanders have some college credits but not a degree. We want to change that.
