Brown Building Society - BBS

addition to pursuing major projects, the BBS undertakes various
minor projects of a far lesser duration and scale at different points throughout the school year. Projects are chosen by the organization as a whole and are aimed at meeting the following criteria:

1. Allow students to gain experience in construction techniques and reinforce and further develop concepts taught in Brown classes

2. Provide a lasting benefit to Brown University, the local community, and/or the global community

3. Be varied in nature and promote interdisciplinary interaction and cooperative relationships within engineering as well as the university in general

BBS members participate in as few or as many projects as they wish, allowing for varied interests and time commitments. Projects are selected and overseen by BBS as a whole, but operate semi-autonomously within the larger organization. BBS is unique because it is not a single purpose organization; it is dedicated to creating and exploring a broad spectrum of projects. By pursuing multiple projects of a deliberately varied nature, BBS seeks to involve as wide of a range of students as possible, promoting interdisciplinary interaction both within the organization and in the broader community.
