Stas Orlovski is a Los Angeles based artist whose work includes drawing, painting, sculpture and animation. Orlovski was born in the former Soviet Republic of Moldova in 1969. His family fled to Tel Aviv, then Paris, to eventually settle in Toronto, Canada. Orlovski studied art in Toronto and Los Angeles, receiving a BFA from York University, a B.Ed from the University of Toronto and an MFA from the University of Southern California. Orlovski has exhibited widely including a multi-media installation at the 56th Venice Biennale. His work is represented in collections including LACMA, Crocker Art Museum, Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, Houston Museum of Fine Arts, and the Progressive Corporation. Awards, fellowships and residencies include Skowhegan, Yaddo, Art Omi, City of LA Individual Artist Fellowship (COLA), California Community Foundation Getty Fellowship, Center for Cultural Innovation Grant and the Joan Mitchell Foundation Painters & Sculptors Grant.
