The Saxena Center is pleased to announce its Spring Artist-in-Residence program featuring the eminent musician, author, and public intellectual TM Krishna.
TM Krishna is Indiaβs foremost Carnatic vocalist, renowned for captivating audiences across global concert circuits while engaging with the formβs cultural heritage and contemporary politics. He is also the author of numerous books and articles, including A Southern Music: The Karnatik Story (2016) and Sebastian and Sons: A Brief History of Mridangam Makers (2020). In 2016, he received the Ramon Magsaysay Award βfor his commitment to using art to heal Indiaβs social divisions.β In 2024, the Madras Music Academy honored him with the title of Sangeetha Kalanidhi.
TM Krishna will join us at the Saxena Center for three events, the first of which is:
