From May 26-29, Sophia Academy students spent our annual Arts Intensive Week learning from incredible visiting artists in filmmaking, hip hop, Latin dance, spoken word, and visual arts. The week ended with an amazing showcase that included dance performances, a student-produced film, and more!

Students in Mrs. Moniz’s 6th grade math class are exploring mathematical circles through a creative project using strings and hammers. A hands-on way to bring geometry, creativity, and problem-solving together in the classroom!

Last Thursday, the Sophia Academy community showed what it truly means to lead with purpose. Students, faculty, staff & parents came together for our annual Day of Service, stepping outside the classroom and into the community to give back in meaningful ways. Earlier this month, Sophia Academy students joined hundreds of other students from across the state for URI's College of Health Sciences' National Biomechanics Day, where they learned how the body moves and interacted with real research equipment.

Last month, our 5th & 6th graders traded classrooms for the countryside during the annual Farm School trip. Over 3 days & 2 nights on a working farm, students rolled up their sleeves, connected with nature, and learned by doing.
