We are calling on all KASA members to participate in 's social media campaign! 🦋🇰🇷
The International Memorial Day for "Comfort Women'' falls on August 14, the day Kim Hak-soon became the first victim to come forward with a public testimony about her experience as a "comfort woman." 🗣The euphemism refers to women and girls forced into sexual slavery by the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II. is an NGO that works to bring justice to the victims and spead awareness about historical wartime sexual violence incidents. 😇
Berlin-based graphic designer 👨🏻🎨 used browser-based augmented reality to allow people all around the world to take pictures with a virtual Statue of Peace. First built in 2011 in front of the former Japanese embassy in Seoul, the Statue of Peace—also known as Sonyeosang—commemorates the "comfort women" victims and their fight for justice.💪🏼Since then, copies of the statue have been erected all over the world, from the US 🇺🇸to Germany 🇩🇪 to Australia 🇦🇺.
If your account is private, make sure to also DM us the photo!
