In a surprise celebration earlier today RIDE, Rhode Island STEAM Center at Rhode Island College, Rhode Island Energy, and Central Falls Schools officials presented High School teacher Alison Murray with the 2022 RI STEAM Educator Award. Murray is known as an innovative, engaging educator who empowers students. Murray, who has been teaching in Rhode Island public schools for more than a decade, is known to her colleagues as an innovative, engaging educator who empowers students, advocates for multilingual learners, and continuously inspires her peers. This session highlights the experiences of students who are in the computer science/information systems programs at Rhode Island College. Computer Science Education Week is an annual call to action to inspire K-12 students to learn computer science, advocate for equity in computer science education, and celebrate the contributions of students, teachers, and partners to the field.
