Last Thursday in risd gd sophomores had a DSII final exhibition!
👅👅“You Can Never Find A Comfortable Spot in Your Mouth for Your Tongue”⭐️⭐️
“You Can Never Find A Comfortable Spot in Your Mouth for Your Tongue”, is a retrospective exhibition containing the work of Sophomore GD Students. The artwork on display was created in Spring Semester 2024’s Design Studio 2. In DSII, we immersed ourselves in exploring individual and collective voices, collaborative storytelling, and critical engagement🗣️. Through a diverse range of projects, we honed our ability to craft narratives that resonate with real-world audiences. By navigating various tones and contexts, we gained insights into amplifying meaning and fostering genuine connections through design. This exhibition serves as a testament to our journey of self-discovery and creative growth. Each piece reflects our commitment to awareness, storytelling, and embracing diverse perspectives—an essential foundation for impactful design communication. 📙📩

Dear President Crystal Williams, Provost Touba Ghadessi, Leadership Cabinet, and RISD Board of Trustees,
We want to state that the RISD Graphic Design department stands in solidarity with the RSJP students — against genocide, against apartheid, and in support of Palestinian people.
We are writing as faculty and staff to echo and support the four basic demands as stated in the RISD SJP manifesto (link in bio): 1) Disclosure 2) Divestment 3) Student Oversight and 4) Presidential statement condemning genocide.
The moment to listen closely and learn from RISD students who organize and participate in this movement is now. Students, faculty, and staff request less deflection and ambiguity, and more clarity from the administration. We implore you to take immediate action to meet their demands.
In solidarity,
RISD Graphic Design
