Reach Out and Read Rhode Island

Thank you to our friends at Beacon Mutual Insurance Company for including us in their 5th Annual Week of Service! This rock-star group of volunteers stickered 5,000 books in just a little over an hour! These books are now ready to be given out at pediatric and family medicine practices around the state during well-child visits!

Think of us when you're picking up groceries this week! A small way to support our organization and the environment!

Thank you to Dr. Nelken at Jenks Park Pediatrics for sharing this picture of Jacqui, who loves the book, Ian's Walk, a story that helps children understand and appreciate the experiences of individuals with autism.
Sharing books like these during pediatric visits supports not only literacy development but also helps children build empathy and understanding of the world around them.
This book was provided through Reach Out and Read Rhode Island with support from a Title V grant from the Rhode Island Department of Health. Title V funding helps improve the health and well-being of mothers, infants, children and youth, including children with special health care needs.
Through this initiative, RORRI provides our pediatric practices with with high quality, developmentally books that reflect diverse experiences and promote inclusion. We are grateful to for helping make inclusive literacy resources available to the children and families we serve. Happy Reading, Jacqui!

Wow! Thank you to everyone who came out for Read & Romp today! The weather was perfect to play and read outside, and enjoy crafts and carousel inside! A huge thank you to the amazing volunteers from Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island who made this event such a success!

We were thrilled that Reach Out and Read recognized the amazing work being done in the Brown University Health pediatric residency program! During Grand Rounds this morning, our Reach Out and Read champions at Hasbro were recognized and celebrated! A special shout-out to Dr. Davis, Dr. Lapides, Dr. Furst and Dr. Kamath for their amazing work! THANK YOU! We look forward to our continued partnership.

The weather looks perfect for Read & Romp this Saturday, June 6th! We hope you'll join us at Roger Williams Park Carousel for free carousel rides, crafts, activities, snacks and of course, books! Event runs from 11am-1pm. Activities are designed for children age 7 and under but all are welcome!

A huge shout-out to this team at Collette who took a few hours out of their busy day to sticker over 2,000 books for us! These books are now ready to head to sites with a sticker with a QR code that leads families to our website for more literacy resources! Thank you Collette!
