The Centreville Bank Charitable Foundation wrapped up 2021 by donating over $1.1 Million in the communities it serves. In honor of this year's RI Great Reads book selection, Layla's Happiness by Mariahadessa Ekere Tallie, Providence Community Library is hosting a series of family events including a food drive to benefit the Rhode Island Community Food Bank from July 19th to August 21st. Did you know that 'prescribing books' at regular well-child visits is proven to boost morale for our medical providers?!

Research shows that participating in Reach Out and Read actually improves medical providers' morale and satisfaction, improves patient-provider relationships, and helps foster a literacy-rich environment.

One provider is quoted saying, "Reach Out and Read is one of my favorite parts of my job, and I really enjoy supporting the implementation of the program at my clinic! I have found literacy messaging in primary care to be particularly powerful, and I enjoy empowering families to be more intentional about reading and literacy promotion at home."
