Thank you to our fellow community health and wellness students for attending advocacy day at the statehouse supporting the Cancer Action Network by talking to lawmakers about Increasing funding for to***co control programs, increasing the age to 21 to purchase to***co products, and prohibiting cost sharing for colonoscopies for individuals 45 and up. There is an advocacy event on April 24th, with the Cancer Action Network. Please see the link below where students must register for this event. There is also a 1 hour required training for this event and the days and times are below. At this event students will present their legislative asks before lawmakers regarding increasing the smoking age to 21 and increasing funding for to***co control programs in our state. This event allows people who have ever been affected by cancer in any capacity to come together, share stories, and speak with elected officials about making the fight against cancer a priority in our state.
