Brown Swing Club offers free lessons/workshops to Brown Students and Providence community members. This is the lesson track for you!

We offer free lessons to students as well as community members**. Fall 2022 schedule:

MONDAYS | Intro to Swing Track
New to swing? More advanced dancers are always welcome to practice here too! Sayles Hall Auditorium
Class: 8:00 - 10:00 pm
Social Dance: 10:00-11:00 pm

THURSDAYS | Intermediate Track
Comfortable with the basic swing out? Excited to learn some fancier footwork and more interactive moves? Jump right into our intermediate lessons! Alumnae Hall Crystal Room (subject to change)
Class: 8:00 - 10:00 pm
Social Dance: 10:00-10:30 pm

***In accordance with our Covid Policies, please make sure to:
- Bring proof of vaccination status your first time with us (if you are a Brown/Risd student, we just need to see your Student ID)
- Masks are OPTIONAL this semester until further notice

It's a new year with Brown Swing Club! This semester we have two new excellent instructors, James Cortes and Sasha Karaulova, who will be teaching us Lindy Hop! Beginner lessons are scheduled to take place Monday nights from 8-9pm with social dancing from 9-9:30pm. Our first lesson will be September 14th in Sayles Hall (access entrance on the Brown main green). All levels are welcome! Lessons after the first week will take place in Smith-Buonanno Hall 1st floor lobby. We hope to see you there!

Greetings Swing Dancers!

We are so excited to announce our 2025 spring ZOOT SUIT BALL on Saturday, April 19th in Sayles Hall at Brown! Entry will be free and there will be live music from Paper Moon Jazz Band and more!

7-8 pm beginner lesson
8-10:30 pm social dancing
