Beyond the Bottle We are a member group of Brown’s environmental umbrella organization, emPOWER Brown.

For more information about emPOWER and the other member groups, head to http://www.empowerbrown.org . We've successfully eliminated the sale of bottled water on Brown's campus eateries but our work is not done yet! We've been working on getting water fountains installed in buildings and with special events committees to find alternatives to bottled water; further reducing the demand for bottled water on campus. We thank you for supporting us in our efforts and for sending the message to bottled water companies that we'd rather tap that water fountain!

The U.S. uses 2.5 million single-use water bottles every hour! Over 50 billion single-use plastic water bottles will be used by U.S. citizens in 2013 up from 3.3 billion in 1997. Help decrease the U.S.'s consumption of bottled water and think Beyond the Bottle!
