After decades of dedication, leadership, and impact at Brown and the Department of Epidemiology, David officially retired on July 1, 2025, and Stephen will retire on October 1, 2025.

This July, high school students from around the world joined "People and Their Environment," an intensive pre-college course in environmental epidemiology taught by Epi PhD Candidate Nina Lee.
Through hands-on experiments, field trips, and group projects, students explored the public health impacts of noise, air, and water pollution, climate change, and environmental injustice.
