Over the past several months, students conducted in-depth research on individuals who have made the world a better place. From Frida Kahlo to Stacey Abrams, Elie Wiesel to George Washington Carver, Malala Yousafzai to Yitzhak Rabin, and many more, they explored the lives, challenges, and accomplishments of remarkable changemakers.
Students shared their learning through research papers, speeches, and a living wax museum, where they brought their changemakers to life for fellow students, families, and friends.
As part of this special milestone, each student also received their own chumash, a meaningful resource they will continue to use as they grow and deepen their Jewish learning in the years ahead.
We are so proud of their curiosity, hard work, and thoughtful presentations.

✨ Special Visitors Day at JCDSRI was filled with learning, connection, and so much joy!
We welcomed nearly 200 guests into our school to experience the relationships and joyful Jewish learning that help our students grow and thrive. Visitors learned with and from our 5th graders as they shared words of Torah, spent time in classrooms exploring student projects and new learning, and joined us for a spirited kinnus filled with singing, dancing, prayer, and celebration. 💛🎶
Days like these remind us what makes JCDSRI such a special community. Thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to support our students in so many ways. ✨

🎶Zimriyah, our annual Hebrew song festival, is always one of the most joyful and moving days of the year at JCDSRI.🎶
There is something incredibly powerful about watching children sing and dance with their whole selves in front of hundreds of parents, alumni, siblings, and community members who are there simply to love and support them.
In a world that can so often feel broken, Zimriyah leaves us feeling hopeful, connected, and full of joy.

✨ It’s milestone season at JCDSRI! ✨
This week, we celebrated with our 1st graders at their “I Am a Leader” event - such a special moment of growth and pride. Students shared songs, led prayers they’ve learned this year, and spent time with families and special friends exploring their portfolios.
More celebrations to come as other grades mark their milestone moments in the weeks ahead!

It is always one of the MOST fun afternoons of the year!
A big THANK YOU to Mrs. Sugerman and Ms. Heather for making it happen. And, thank you to Ms. Heather for the awesome pictures.

🌊🦀 Our 4th graders are kicking off a new unit on invasive species with a field study with Save the Bay!
During their visit, students conducted an invasive species survey, observing firsthand how non-native crabs impact local habitats. This hands-on experience will serve as the foundation for their classroom research as they explore other invasive species and their effects on biodiversity here in Rhode Island.
