The English major at Rhode Island College offers the opportunity to explore literature as well as other texts through a variety of perspectives in literary and cultural criticism. Majors learn to read texts critically, to understand the historical and cultural conditions within which texts are produced, and to become aware of current theoretical approaches that shape the study of English today.
