Less than three years after our launch, the Institute for Cybersecurity & Emerging Technologies was honored to receive the Excellence in Cybersecurity Award as part of Government Technology's Rhode Island Digital Government Summit.
The work that we do would not be possible without Governor Dan McKee and Rhode Island College (RIC) President Jack Warner. We are deeply grateful to their support of our mission to strengthen Rhode Island’s cybersecurity workforce and provide hands-on, high-quality cyber and AI training aligned with the needs of businesses and government entities.

Across the country, tuition costs are rising and pricing many young people out of their dream of a college education.
Rhode Island College (RIC) puts that dream back in reach with the help of Rhode Island's Hope Scholarship. Students receiving the Hope Scholarship can earn a bachelor’s degree for as little as $25,000.
RIC President Jack Warner and the Institute’s Congressman Jim Langevin recently headed to the State House to show their support for legislation that would make the Hope Scholarship permanent, ensuring that Rhode Islanders continue to have access to an affordable, high-quality education that prepares them for the workforce of tomorrow.

With more than 500,000 open cybersecurity positions across the United States, the Institute's mission to train the next generation of cybersecurity professionals has never been more critical. This week, we're expanding that mission by launching Rhode Island's first cybersecurity apprenticeship program.
In partnership with Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI), Building Futures and Citizens and with support from our partners in government, we're sending students into full-time, paid cybersecurity roles that offer structured, hands-on training to prepare them for a career in this rapidly evolving sector.
