This week’s Rhode Island Builders Association/Residential Construction Workforce Partnership event brought together leaders from across the state, including U.S. Senator Jack Reed and Congressman Gabe Amo.
We are proud that The Met was represented at this important gathering by Met Director of Schools Nancy Diaz and Hector Rodriguez, Class of 2025.
The event highlighted the connection between expanding access to affordable housing and building a strong, skilled workforce for Rhode Island’s future. For The Met, that connection reflects what we believe deeply: young people thrive when learning connects to the real world and opens doors to meaningful careers.
We’re especially proud to see Hector representing The Met at an event focused on expanding opportunities in the construction trades and strengthening Rhode Island’s workforce.

This prestigious, renewable scholarship will help Alex pursue his dream of studying film, animation, and video at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).
Throughout his time at the Met, Alex demonstrated extraordinary creativity and a passion for visual storytelling.

Today we celebrated one of our favorite traditions at The Met!
Before our formal graduation ceremony, we gather as a school community for our annual In-School Graduation Celebration. This special event gives all of our students the opportunity to see our seniors proudly wearing their caps and gowns, celebrate the accomplishments of their friends and peers, and recognize the many scholarships, awards, and achievements earned by the Class of 2026.
It is a joyful reminder of what is possible through hard work, perseverance, and the support of a caring community. We are incredibly proud of our graduating seniors and look forward to celebrating at graduation. Congratulations, Class of 2026!

Congratulations to Met sophomore Rio VieraSpears on being named the 2026 Transform RI Scholarship winner! Rio's innovative idea to connect high school students with senior centers and housing authorities to teach technology workshops earned him a $25,000 scholarship, while the Papitto Opportunity Connection will invest $1 million to bring his vision to life. We are incredibly proud of Rio for representing The Met and demonstrating the power of young people to create meaningful change in Rhode Island.
