The H&H Crew have partnered up with the Providence Fire Department Safety and Survival Foundation Conference Committee for a Spring 2026 Event "H&H: Beantown to the Borough".

For our 12th installment of Hops & Halligans, we will be setting up an evening of brotherhood and brews in Providence with dialogue and dialect between Mark Gregory and Pat Nichols as they tell the tale of their careers from within the Fire Department of New York and the Boston Fire Department.

Hands on Highlight! This class, taught by and , will cover search and rescue ahead of the hand line in live fire conditions. This is sure to be a hard working day! Come learn from the developer of the highly regarded FAST board Eric Allen and Jason Rivera, 31 year veteran of New Haven Fire Department. These two are sure to put students through their paces with hard hitting, real world scenarios and lessons learned true experience.

Class room spotlight! Todays class room spotlight is for the afternoon lecture of “Mid Rise Mayhem”, taught by District Chief Clyde Gordon of Houston Fire Department. Chief Gordon is bringing 36 years of experience straight to the class room for students, where he’ll be focusing on the Command and Strategy aspects of operations in these structures. A great opportunity to learn from his extensive first hand experience and wealth of knowledge.

James Lee of FDNY and Josh Miller of New Haven Fire Department are teaching this exciting special rescue skill. Combining purpose, context, and hands on action in the real world application of roof rope rescues.

Participants are required to have firefighter 1, ropes 1 (or equivalent), PPE and a class 2 harness.
