“When Dr. Kurtis asked me if I was willing to help make viral transport media for COVID-19 I asked, ‘when can I start?’” Sunthorn Pond-Tor said. Pond-Tor and other staff in the lab of Jake Kurtis, chair of the Department of Pathology, are making 5,000 vials of VTM so that the state Department of Health can conduct COVID-19 tests.

Faculty and staff have also donated 4,000 N95 masks and other PPE for local health care workers.
