Last night, the Rhode Island Senate voted to pass S2787A, legislation that will limit educational opportunities for Rhode Island students and families.
For months, parents, students, educators, and community members have shown up at the State House to share their stories, advocate for their children, and ask for more educational opportunities.
Yet despite overwhelming support for more options, many families left feeling unheard.
To every family who showed up, thank you. We will continue fighting for a future where parents have a voice in their children's education and every student has access to the opportunities they deserve.
Contact your Representatives and tell them to support families, and stop the charter ban!

Anoche, el Senado de Rhode Island votó a favor de aprobar la S2787A, una legislación que limitará las oportunidades educativas para los estudiantes y las familias de Rhode Island.
Durante meses, padres, estudiantes, educadores y miembros de la comunidad acudieron al Capitolio Estatal para compartir sus historias, defender a sus hijos y pedir más oportunidades educativas.

The RI Pre-K program offers free, high-quality learning opportunities for children who will be four years old as of September 1, 2026.
