The Freedom Doctor Presents

For the Fall 2026 issue of Arc Poetry Magazine, we’re looking for poetic responses to resistance movements around the world and explorations of protest through poetry. Send us poems that look at injustices and ongoing violence, or poems that advocate for rest in the face of exhaustion from marginalization. Send us poems that oppose the status quo, withstand attacks and temptations, and refuse to be categorized.

Much love to my community of family and friends and especially (, , , ) for the great dinner, a tour of some of the best spots for a good low-fi vibe in the evening ( ) my extended family back home who was there was me in spirit, too, and all the messages of love and support I received during my graduation weekend.

Brown treated me super well and faculty like .dawes and my cohort folks **k made it easier to be in this space and remain true to my poetics and politics as I navigated it.

It’s my MFA Graduation Day from Brown today!! 🎓❤️‍🔥💛🖤🤙🏾🙏🏾🔥🙌🏾

I am thanking the Creator and my ancestors for guiding me and giving me the confidence to grow and open myself to failure as a form of acceleration over these two years!

Thank you turning my low days to places of refuge and laughter! Thank you for company in seasons of solitude! Thank you for the opportunity to study at Brown! It’s been a lovely time!

Thank you for the opportunities to impact others and to grow as an artist. I’m so happy to share that I was offered a place as an Artist Resident with the Bent Birch Retreat Center. I’m looking forward to working on my projects and being in reciprocity with this amazing organization!
