Say hi to our new Undergrad Teaching and Research Awards (UTRA) student Laura!

Laura is joining as a research assistant and is currently planning to concentrate in Applied Math & Biology.

Having ten dogs at home, Laura has always been interested in learning about dog behaviors. She is excited to be a part of the team and learn more about dogs.

Outside the lab, you can find her sipping her third cup of matcha, painting and drawing portraits, playing soccer, reading, and cooking Burmese food.

Say hi to our Undergrad Research Assistant, Abe! Abe began working in the lab as an UTRA student this summer, and is currently studying Biology.

Abe has always been a dog lover and has grown up with two dogs at home. In high school, Abe volunteered with his dog, Shluffy, as an Animal Assisted Intervention handler in memory care facilities. He is excited to learn more about canine cognition and how dogs think and learn about the world around them.

Outside of the lab, Abe is a member of the Brown Wrestling team. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, spending time outdoors, and hanging out with his dogs.

Marvin was the perfect participant during the Solidity study with RAs Julia and Bryson. But perhaps more importantly, the airplane ears in this picture are formidable.

Lily brought her boundless energy to the Dog Lab and completed the Solidity study with Julia and Laura. Far from behaving like a dignified old lady, Lily is clearly a puppy at heart :)

Please join us in congratulating (and welcoming with her new fancy title) Dr. Maddie Pelgrim! Maddie has officially completed all requirements for a PhD in Cognitive Science! Maddie has been an invaluable leader for the lab. She has mentored numerous undergraduate researchers and completed many impressive projects in her time here. Next fall, Maddie will begin her new position as a faculty member in the Psychology department at Stonehill College in Easton, MA. We will miss having her here with us, but we can't wait to cheer her on in her next chapter! Congrats Dr. Pelgrim! 🎓🐾🍾
