1 Full-Time Janitor or 2 Part-Time Janitors (Different shifts)
Greater Beckley Christian School – Secondary Campus
Greater Beckley Christian School is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Full-Time Janitor to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and guests.
Position Overview:
This position is responsible for creating cleaner, healthier facilities across our secondary campus by performing essential custodial duties using provided products, tools, and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to -
-Perform routine cleaning of classrooms, hallways, offices, restrooms, and common areas
-Sweeping, mopping, polishing floors, dusting, and trash removal
-Restroom and kitchen cleaning and sanitation
-Window and surface cleaning
-Gymnasium cleaning and preparation
-Cleaning the gym before and after athletic events and ball games
-Supporting facility readiness for school events and evening activities
-Maintaining cleaning supplies and reporting maintenance needs
Schedule Expectations:
-Up to 40 hours per week (full-time); 20 hours per week (part-time)
-Afternoon and evening availability required
Physical Demands
-Constant (up to 100%) standing, walking, pushing, kneeling, twisting, and reaching
-Ability to lift and/or carry up to 25 lbs
Qualifications
-1–2 years of experience as a custodian, janitor, or housekeeper preferred, but not required
-Ability to differentiate between cleaning products and their proper uses
-Strong work ethic and willingness to learn (on-the-job training provided)
-Attention to detail and commitment to excellence
-Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment
-Dependable, punctual, and professional in appearance and conduct
-Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
-Demonstrates courtesy and respect toward all staff and students
-Must have a Pastoral Reference
