Congratulations to Tishtrya Cama of Rock Hill High School in Frisco, Texas, on being named a 2026 JEA Rising Star.

As adviser of Rock Hill's broadcast, newspaper and yearbook programs, Cama has challenged students to think bigger, take creative risks and elevate their work. Former student leader Chris Scamardo said she "pushed us to go outside our boundaries and produce industry-level work," helping students develop confidence, tackle challenges head-on and transform a small staff into a powerhouse.

All Middle School students wishing to compete in UIL Academics Speaking Events this year must compete at the first competition by recording and submitting performance videos by the dates below. More instructions will be given closer to time for the video submission. Students who do not submit may not be eligible to participate.
