October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and once again Woodland Worldwide is sponsoring a “Diaper Drive” to support parents and children living in domestic violence shelters.

Items of Need: diapers (all/any size), wipes, formula, gas & grocery gift cards

Throughout October, you can drop off your donations outside of Woodland's Main Office, or leave them in the office for Mrs. Meghan Geary. They will be donated to The Umbrella Center and The Prudence Crandall Center before Thanksgiving.

Remember: there is no “typical” victim. Woodland Worldwide is committed to de-stigmatizing family and partner violence so that people—especially our teens—know the warning signs and feel empowered to seek help. A special thanks to everyone who has made a donation so far!

Woodland students in Mr. Feige's Forensic Science classes were engaged in hands-on learning as they created detailed crime scene sketches. This exercise strengthens observation skills, critical thinking, and attention to detail. These real-world skills are essential for success in forensic investigations and beyond!

🐾 A BIG PAW-SOME SHOUT-OUT TO OUR SEPTEMBER TOP DOGS! 🐾

We are excited to celebrate our September Top Dogs at Laurel Ledge Elementary! 🐶 These students have been shining examples of leadership, kindness, and respect, and we are so proud of them!

On Friday, our Top Dogs were invited to the library to decorate their very own picture frames. Their photos will be displayed on our special Top Dog bulletin board throughout the month so our entire school community can celebrate their accomplishments! ⭐

Being a Top Dog comes with some pretty PAW-SOME perks! Our students earned: 🍦 A ticket for a FREE ice cream from the cafeteria! 🐾 A special Top Dog lanyard to show off their achievement! 🎟️ 100 points to spend at our school prize store! 🚌 The important job of being a "Bus Duty Boss" and handing out green tickets to students who are following expectations!

We are so proud of these students for being positive role models and helping make Laurel Ledge such a wonderful place to learn and grow. Their leadership and kindness make a difference every day!

Congratulations to all of our September Top Dogs! Keep shining and leading the pack! 🐾💙🤍

🔥🎨 Celebrating Our Fire Prevention Coloring Contest Winners! 🎨🔥

Congratulations to our amazing Laurel Ledge artists! 🖍️👏

Each year, Beacon Hose Company No. 1 hosts a Fire Prevention Coloring Contest, giving students a chance to combine creativity with an important fire safety message. We are excited to celebrate three student winners from each grade level, Kindergarten through Grade 5! 🏆🎉

This year’s Fire Prevention Week theme is:

⚡🔥 “Charge into Fire Safety. Safe Charging is a Superpower.” 🔥⚡

Our students did an incredible job bringing this important message to life through their artwork. We are so proud of all the students who participated, and we especially want to congratulate our contest winners! 🎨❤️

As part of their recognition, our winners and their families have been invited to a special breakfast at the Fire House on Fire Prevention Day, October 6! 🚒🥞

A huge thank-you to Beacon Hose Company No. 1 for continuing to partner with our school and help our students learn how to stay safe while having fun along the way!
