Hello, I am Mary.... I grew up in Orange, Connecticut on a farm. I took and excelled in several child development courses while attending Amity High School. I graduated with an Associate’s Certificate from Paier College of Art. I started Mary's Daycare over 22 years ago (state licensed since 1994) when I decided I wanted to build a career that would allow me to spend more time with my four childre
n and share what they had with others. It was a great opportunity for my children to learn, grow and make friends prior to starting school. I began developing connections with parents and their children to create a curriculum for teaching children various skills and preschool readiness. During the summer months I write a summer program that involves a day for music, art, math, letters/writing, nature and sports each week. Our schedule is full of fun and creative things to do. Some examples include holiday crafts, show and tell, and reading day. I encourage the children to learn self-help skills such as getting on their own shoes and coats as well as self-feeding and toilet training. I provide a lot of T.L.C. and have a great big playground for the kids to have outdoor play. I have wonderful references that notate the cleanliness and strict adherence to the sick policy I have as well as the schedule I follow including free play, learning time, snack time, nap, etc so that your child will feel secure and know what is expected. I am first aid, CPR, and medication administration certified. I am very reliable and caring. I work to teach, mold, and motivate children in a very fun environment. The children at daycare get to spend the day with Zip, a very friendly black-lab you will see in many of the posted photos. I have many families that attend daycare from infant to school-age and when they head off as they are older they tend to come back to visit and help with newer children attending to help them feel comfortable. I have been fortunate to obtain permission to post past and present daycare photos to display examples of many fun days at Mary’s Daycare. I am conveniently located right by route 8 as well as interstate 84E/84W and 691. I am accommodating to many individuals schedules as needed, especially in inclement weather. I look forward to meeting people and providing them with my references and further details.
